Heidi K. Brown joined Moore & Lee, LLP in 2002. Previously, she had been an associate at Watt, Tieder, Hoffar & Fitzgerald, LLP in the McLean, Virginia office, and an associate at Thacher, Proffitt & Wood in New York, New York. Her practice focuses on government contracts, commercial litigation, contract drafting and federal litigation.
Ms. Brown participated in a Corporate Counsel Roundtable Panel in St. Paul, Minnesota, discussing the relationship between in-house counsel and outside counsel in the new millennium of litigation, in February of 2003. She has been a panel speaker at the New York State Bar Association, Municipal Law Section, Annual Meeting, speaking on “Contractor Default and Municipal Remedies: Finishing the Contract and Recovering the Cash” in January 2001, and a featured speaker at the Annual Convention of the National Association of Women in Construction, lecturing on “Preserving Payment Claims on Construction Contracts” in September 1998.
As a writer, Ms. Brown has co-authored an article, Recoverability of the Cost of Borrowing in Construction Contracts, 17 Public Contract Law Journal 17 (Fall 1997), and is the author of Fundamentals of Federal Litigation, published by and available from Thomson-West Publishing.

Ms. Brown has served as the President, the Vice-President and a member of the Board of Directors for the Washington, D.C. chapter of the National Association of Women in Construction. During those terms, she facilitated monthly meetings to promote networking among professional women in the construction industry and coordinated industry speakers and community events. Ms. Brown founded the Washington, D.C. Women's Legal Networking Group to foster networking and business referrals among women attorneys.
